General Questions FAQ

You Have Questions…we Have Answers

How do I choose the right flooring for my space?

There are several things to consider when choosing what type of flooring is best for you. How much traffic does the room get? What types of activities are being done there? How many people live in the home? Do you have children? Are there pets? Is the room regularly exposed to water?

There are a lot of floors to choose from and our flooring experts would love to work with you to find the right flooring for you. Stop by one of our South Florida showrooms to see your options and get all your questions answered.

Do I pick out my flooring first or have someone come to my home to measure?

You should select your flooring first. That way, when we visit your home to measure and survey the job, we know the type of flooring we will be installing and what we need to look for to ensure a perfect installation.

Why should I choose Quantum Floors over the Big Box stores?

Quantum Floors is a family business. This means we’re in it for the long haul – as in generations. Our customers are our neighbors and friends, people from whom we purchase our groceries, with whom we bank and go fishing with. You get the idea. We do our very best for them. We make sure they get the best design service, sales expertise, floor covering products, and the best installation – all at very fair prices.

We’re proud to have been welcomed into four South Florida communities: Boynton Beach, Coconut Creek, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach Gardens. That says a lot about how our approach – our value and service – is working. We stand on our reputation for great floors, great service and great value.

Quantum Floors offers many advantages over the big box stores including flooring expertise, shopping experience, price, in-house installation, product selection and merchandising. We also offer services you won’t find at the big box stores like free design service, free samples and free home measurement. The problems caused by big box stores in local communities are well documented.

Can you beat other estimates?

Quantum Floors prides itself on its competitive pricing. When comparing apples to apples, you will generally find our prices to be better.

An estimate is only as good as the quality of the materials you choose as well as the store you plan to purchase it from. We meticulously curate all the products we offer. We say no to more flooring than we decide to display in our showrooms due to quality. Beware of cheap flooring and cheap installation products.

What types of flooring does Quantum Floors sell?

We specialize in 3 specific types of flooring - engineered hardwood, premium laminate, and waterproof luxury vinyl tile. By focusing on only these types of flooring, our talented teams of flooring installers can zero in on the unique techniques it takes to create a flawless, time-tested finish every time.

My room is 500 square feet, but we’re being told to order 550 square feet of flooring. Is this really necessary?

Yes. As a general rule, you should plan to order 10% more flooring than is needed for the installation. Much of the material will be cut to fit the exact space, and once the boards are cut, they likely cannot be used elsewhere in the room because the end tongue or groove will have been removed. Once that happens, that board can no longer adjoin with another board, so there is some waste involved.

You may need to order slightly more or less depending on the room. For example, if you need to work around stairs, a bay window, a fireplace, and a closet, you may need to have more than 10%.

It's also a good idea to have leftover planks in case a section of your floor ever needs to be repaired or replaced.

Does Quantum Floors offer financing?

Yes. We offer an interest-free, 12-month term for most flooring. Of course, we offer other terms as well. We can get you approved in minutes either on our website or in one of our showrooms. All financing terms are subject to credit approval.

Does Quantum Floors offer samples? How much are they?

We offer free samples for you to borrow to see how the flooring will look in your home environment. Our samples are LARGE so you can really get a feel for the look of the flooring with your home’s lighting and décor. Beware of small samples that can’t offer you a feel for how the flooring will look due to its small size. Stop into any of our showrooms and borrow a sample or two to take home.

My condominium requires permits, sound-proofing and has other regulations. Can Quantum Floors help me?

No problem! We work in condos every day. We highly suggest that you touch base with your building management to see what parameters they have set in place as some buildings have sound regulations and want to see spec sheets on materials. You might also need to satisfy a contractor or renovation checklist, which your building manager can provide for you. We are more than happy to provide you with any information we have to help streamline your approval process with your building.

We can also assist in obtaining necessary county permits. In addition, our installation teams are licensed and insured in Broward, Miami/Dade and Palm Beach counties. Click here for more information on our installation services.

Is there any type of hard surface flooring that will not scratch?

All hard surfaces have the possibility of being scratched. The trick is finding the right flooring type and finish that fits your lifestyle. A floor with texture and low sheen will best hide scratches, dust, pet hair and dried water spots. When you visit one of our showrooms, our flooring experts will help to ascertain the best flooring for your unique situation.

Do you charge to come to my home to measure it?

No, we will come measure and survey your home at no charge once you’ve visited one of our showrooms and selected your flooring. We ask you to select your flooring first so that when we come out to measure and survey your home, we know exactly what we need to look for to ensure a perfect installation.

Does Quantum Floors refinish hardwood floors?

We sure do! Please contact one of our flooring specialists to discuss your project and options.
